In this message, Pastor Matt teaches on the second of three battlegrounds the believer must contend with when living by faith: Rejecting Worldly Wisdom.

He draws upon the life of Joshua when Moses died and he was assuming the leadership role of guiding the Israelites into the Promised Land. God told him to be careful to obey the instructions of Moses and do not deviate to the right or left of them.

Joshua 1:7-8 NLT Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the instructions Moses gave you. Do not deviate from them, turning either to the right or to the left. Then you will be successful in everything you do. 8 Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.

When we deviate from the God's instructions to us in His Word, we are living in worldly wisdom, and not the wisdom of God. We are living by faith in our power and not by faith in God's power.
