OUR BELIEFS
-
GOD THE FATHER
God the Father is the Creator and sustainer of all that exists, both the seen and the unseen. God is eternal and completely good, knowing all things and having all power. God exists as the Trinity, in three persons, yet one God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God passionately desires relationship with us and invites us into a personal relationship with Him.
Genesis 1:1; John 14:6-9, 15-17 and John 16:7-15; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 John 4:9-1
-
GOD THE SON
The Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. The Scriptures declare His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, substitutionary work on the cross, bodily resurrection from the dead, and His exaltation to the right hand of God. Matthew 1:23; Hebrews 7:26; Acts 10:38; 1 Corinthians 15:3; Matthew 28:6; Philippians 2:9-11
-
GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit is present in the world to convict the world of sin and draw them to the Father. He lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, guidance in doing what is right, and power to witness. Every believer has access to the Holy Spirit’s gifts when they are saved. As Christians, we seek to live under His guidance daily.
Acts 1:8; Luke 24:49; John 14:15-17; 26; Romans 8:26; Romans 15:13; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31
-
THE HOLY BIBLE
The Bible is inspired by God and is our all-sufficient rule for faith and conduct. It is the supreme and supernatural source of truth for our Christian beliefs and living. 2 Timothy 3:15-17; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Peter 1:21
-
MANKIND
People are created in the spiritual image of God. Though originally good, man willingly fell to sin–separating man from God and ushering in evil and death, both physical and spiritual, into the world. Genesis 1:26,27; Genesis 2:17; Genesis 3:6; Romans 5:12-19
-
SALVATION
Every person can have restored fellowship with God by grace through salvation in Christ alone. (trusting Christ, through faith and repentance, to be our personal Savior). Luke 24:47; John 3:3; Romans 10:13-15; Ephesians 2:8 ; Titus 2:11; Titus 3:5-7
-
ETERNITY
People were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life in Heaven. Heaven and hell are real places of eternal existence. Matthew 25:46; Mark 9:43-46;
-
THE CHURCH
The church is a local community of believers unified through faith in Christ and a part of the bigger whole of the global church. It is committed to the teachings of Christ and to obeying all of His commands as it seeks to bring the gospel to the world. The church works together in love and unity, intent on the ultimate purpose of glorifying Christ and making Him known to the world.. Ephesians 1:22,23; Ephesians 2:22; Hebrews 12:23
-
WATER BAPTISM
Anyone who repents of their sin and believes in Christ as their Savior is to be baptized in water. By doing this, they symbolically declare to the world that they have died with Christ and have also been raised to live a new life with Him. We practice water baptism by full immersion. Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:16; Acts 10:47,48; Romans 6:4
-
COMMUNION
The Lord’s supper, consisting of bread and fruit of the vine, is a spiritual expression of our sharing of the divine nature of Christ, the memorial of his suffering and death, and the prophetic declaration of His return. Matthew 26:26-29; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26
-
FUTURE EVENTS
We believe in The Blessed Hope—When Jesus Raptures His Church Prior to His Return to Earth (the second coming). At this future moment in time all believers who have died will rise from their graves and will meet the Lord in the air, and Christians who are alive will be caught up with them, to be with the Lord forever. 1 Thessalonians 4:16,17; Romans 8:23; Titus 2:13; 1 Corinthians 15:51,52
-
CORE VALUES
The following values are the DNA that influences, forms, and directs our actions and beliefs. Our Beliefs answer the “What” we believe and Our Values answer “Why” we do what we do.
-
The TRANSFORMED LIFE
At the moment of salvation, we are supernaturally transformed into a new creation, the old is gone and we are made brand new in Christ. The miracle of the new birth is just the beginning of the transformation God intends for us. Our response to the miracle of salvation that has transformed us is to pursue Christ and to be found in Him, to lay hold of Him for which He laid hold of us.
-
The SUPERNATURAL LIFE
We worship and serve a supernatural God of miracles and wonders. We do not limit an unlimited God but embrace the reality that He is Spirit and can supernaturally save us, change us, answer our prayers, heal our bodies, transform our marriages, and mightily move heaven and earth on our behalf. He also has promised us His Holy Spirit to indwell us and baptize us with His presence and supernatural power for life and ministry. He also has given the church, supernatural gifts, or the gifts of the Spirit, for building one another up, testifying to the reality of Jesus, and confirming the Truth of His Holy Word. We also recognize and embrace the reality of the supernatural power of prayer and intercession to release God’s will on earth as it is in Heaven.
-
The DISCIPLE-MAKING LIFE
The last commandment of Jesus to his disciples before he ascended into Heaven was, 'Go and make disciples...' Matt 18:19-20. To be a disciple is to make disciples. This commandment is for all followers of Jesus Christ. That’s what a disciple is, one who follows Christ. Christ has also given the church apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers who through the supernatural indwelling of the Holy Spirit have the responsibility to lead and equip the body of Christ for works of service (to be disciples and make disciples). The disciple-making life is marked by one who regularly shares their faith and takes an active role in growing believers up in Christ, down in the Word, into one another, and out to the world.
-
The GENEROUS LIFE
How do we know what love is? John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave…” The greatest expression of love is demonstrated through a life of generosity. Generosity is defined as “the spirit and action of freely and frequently giving to others.” The opposite of generosity is selfishness and stinginess. The generous life is marked by a person’s willingness to give joyfully and generously, even sacrificially, to the needs of others. A generous person demonstrates their love of God and people by being touched by the needs of others and helping by generously giving their time, talents and treasures. How much do you love God? The number one indicator of a person’s love of God is how generous they are to the needs of others. To be full of the love of God is to have compassion for others that is quick to give and sacrifice freely and joyfully. To have the heart of God is to have a generous heart for the three things God loves most: His church, the hurting, and the lost.
-
The TRUTH-FILLED LIFE
We are seekers of truth. Jesus is Truth. We embrace the reality that Truth is defined by Jesus Christ as revealed and confirmed in His Word, the Holy Bible. The Holy Bible is the supernatural revelation of God to man that shows the only way to salvation and fellowship with God, through Christ, in the power of the Holy Spirit. The Bible is also our all-sufficient rule for faith and practice and therein contains everything we need for life and godliness in this life and prepares us for an eternity with God in the next.
